11/10/09: Antioch Anniversary Mass 2009!
Celebrating the 28th year, this year's mass was themed with the canonisation of Sister Jeanne Jugan. She is the centrepoint of the Little Sisters of the Poor, who are situated in Randwick. Preceding the mass was a communal barbeque and a talk by some Sisters from the Little Sisters of the Poor giving us an insight into what it is like being one of them. Instead of being held in the Cathedral, the mass was hosted at Ss Mary & Joseph's in Maroubra. This setting provided a cosy atmosphere, with a full band compromising of percussion, string and wind instruments on show in support of the amazing choir directed by Al. The mass itself actually felt more like a party atmosphere, with vocal singing from all parts of the church. Many thanks to all those who were involved such as the band, choir, sound crew, readers, offertory procession, BBQ people and anyone else who was involved in the main organising of the event. But most importantly, thanks to everyone who turned up making it an event to remember!
